A Friend's Confession
Laying in her bed, Hoseki placed an arm over her eyes and exhaled deeply. How could this happen to her? Why did she have to be so damn stupid? She cursed aloud, moving her arm to check her phone. Of course, why would he reply?
"I'm sorry, Arata. Please answer me." The woman whimpered. "I didn't mean it. If I could have taken it all back, I would. I fucked everything up. It was all so good before!" she exclaimed, flipping over to hide her face in a pillow.
He was utterly calm and collected when she spoke. He never showed any signs of distress and no words of complaint. Why couldn't she just keep her mouth shut? Why did she always want more?
"Hoseki, are you home?" Chou called into their dorm. Hoseki only groaned in response. Chou sighed, shaking her head as she entered the room. "What happened now?" she asked her friend, plopping down onto the bed next to her. Hoseki lifted her body up for only a moment.
"I fucked up a good thing just because I was honest for once with a friend," she muttered softly before collapsing back down onto the bed. Chou blinked a few times in confusion, not quite understanding.
"What did you even do?" Chou asked. Hoseki grumbled an explanation, but the pillow muffled all her words. "I don't understand that kind of pillow talk," Chou told her calmly.
"I told him my feelings, not wanting to act on them. I just thought, as a friend, I should say to him. Now, he won't answer my calls or texts! It is like he is avoiding me. He doesn't even walk with me to class anymore or ask to hang out! I don't know what to do. I wish I never said anything!" Hoseki yelled so that Chou could hear her and understand. Chou exhaled, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Maybe he's just been busy?" Chou questioned.
