Random Scene
The female skipped rocks across the glassy surface of the water. Her eyes were glazed over with self-hatred and disgust.
"I swear to you. I'll never love again," her words rang hollow, a tone just fulfilling her wish to be completely empty. A compliment to the failure of a girl. Sitting down, no simply plopping down. She shut her eyes tightly. It all hurt, or did it even hurt, she couldn't tell anymore. A self-fulfilling prophecy of angry family, leaving lovers, and a disgusted daughter. The only guaranteed answer, the only supportive decision in her twisted perspective. The only truth.
"I swear! NEVER AGAIN!" Covering her face, the hot tears escaped the cracked of her mask. "Never trust again! You all expect something from me. Sorry to fucking disappoint!"
Words for deaf ears. Emotions, no, simply being melodramatic right? It didn't stop the pain that shoved through the core of her chest. Heal? At this point she felt terrified that she would never get better. The second, no, there had been more. Many more parasites that had fed off her gentle soul.. did any of her even remain left? She was scared to ask herself the question. A rabbit in a wolves world. Her body trembled as she sobbed loudly.
How many more monsters with blood-stained teeth would smile and promise that it was beyond dry? Fresh meat making them ill? What a joke. Hanging her head, a small chuckle escaped her. Even the good relationships, she'd fuck it up eventually right? She did with her best friend. She had with her parents and though they forgave, they would endless remind her and never forget. How she craved to be able to forget. Silent torturous pain. What should she feel? When regrets grabbed at her, wanting to drown her for being such a fool. Constantly reminded in every little single thing she did. So much, too much.
Quiet, she wished for the thoughts to quiet, but they only screamed louder. Time to herself, how long had it been. Had she simply become accustomed to hurting and now that corrupting touch couldn't reach her, she didn't remember how to function normally. Everyone wanted to lead her, protect her, guide her... when would she forge her own path?
"WHO EVEN AM I!?" She screamed out, collapsing forward balling up. "What is my purpose? What even is the point?" She desperately asked anyone. No answer. Silence washed over her like a wave. What was the answer? She lived life with the concept live to love. Where had that gotten her? Where had it led? To this? What even was this? She hoped to hell this would be the last time she ever felt this way.
"What more do you expect from me!?" The woman shakily breathed. "I have nothing more to give. Not to him. Not to them. Not to anyone." How did one even begin to heal? What did it even mean to heal? Uncurling, she fell backwards to look at the stars. Her hands reached for them, tears rolling down her face as she shook her head back and forth. "I tried so hard.."
"Hey!" She heard voices calling in the distance. "Where are you?" Sitting up, she sniffled and wiped the tears from her eyes.
"She's probably so lost and scared!" Another voice rang frantically. More people bickered in the background as the voices grew closer. She slowly pulled herself back up.
